Cigar Purchases: Cigar Insider & Perelman’s Cyclopedia of Cigars
Not actually cigars that I’ve purchased but the purchases are cigar related.
Cigar Insider is an online, bi-weekly publication from Cigar Aficionado. It gives you cigar ratings, news and preview articles in upcoming issues of their print magazine. The coolest thing about the subscription is you get an online Humidor locker. Its more of a online cigar diary to keep track of what you’ve smoked and how CA and others rate the smoke. Its pretty cool. The cost is $19.95 for 3 months or $49.95 for the year. You get access to the latest 4 issues. They do let you download to keep your own archive of back issues.
Perelman’s Cyclopedia of Cigars
Perelman’s Cyclopedia of Cigars is the authority on cigars that are available in the US. The 2006 edition features 1,206 cigar profiles up 11% from the 2005 edition. The all time record is 1,448 in 1999 towards the end of the cigar boom. I’ve heard a lot of great things about the book. This will be the first edition I’ve bought and I’m looking forward to see what it says about cigars that I enjoy smoking and maybe educate me on cigars that I’m missing out on. Cost is $12.95 plus $5 for shipping.

Sounds like a good book to have.
Where did you get your copy from?
Im interested in getting myself a copy.
I purchased mine directly from the publisher’s site. You can click on the title and it takes you to their site. There is a link to “purchase” on the left navigation menu. Amazon had a wait of 2-3 weeks.
Originally I thought Cigar Aficionado offered one. I remember seeing one advertised in a recent issue but couldn’t find any mention of it on their site.
