I know I know, it seems odd The Great Torpedo/Don “Cruz”ado would be reviewing a cigar made by Davidoff. Its historically not my speed and a brand that I’ve shied away from. Partly because of the hefty price tag but more out of my own ignorance of assuming that the cigar wasn’t meant for me and my non-baller lifestyle. Same could be said for the Padron Anniversary lines too.
That was how I felt up until about six months ago. On a whim, I tried a Special Series, then a Classic and then the Colorado Claro hit the shelves of W.Curtis Drapers and I knew then, that I had been wrong about Davidoff all these years.
Video runs 14:23 and not only is the Colorado Claro one of the best cigars I’ve smoked this year, its probably one of the best cigars I’ve smoked in my entire life. Its hard to recall a cigar so artfully constructed, so well balanced and not to mention its ingenious and engaging complexity. I actually think you get more than what you pay for. I know its price tag is daunting and its easy to bypass it because of its price tag but I truly believe that this is one of those “once in a lifetime” cigars that if you see, you should get it. Growing up I was taught that having the privilage to meet the Pope is the best it get’s……..not Jerry is putting a new twist on it by saying smoking this cigar is comparable to meeting the POPE! LOL, I love it!

Great review! I have never had a Davidoff in my life, just because of the price 🙁 I am thinking of picking one up for a Christmas present to myself, but still have not decided which one. Hell, if I can find this one, maybe I will pull the trigger 🙂

I was a little slow in getting to this video. I think I was in the same boat as you until earlier this year. I had the same preconceived notion about the brand and was pleasantly surprised after smoking my first couple of Davidoff’s.
I’m not a fan of the Zino Classic line, but anything with the white Davidoff band has been a solid smoke. Some are better than others but none of them were, even remotely, “bad”.
