This is an old school episode of Your Questions, My Answers. All the other members were too lazy to make it so Walt and I kicked back just like we did when we first started the YQMA Series some years ago. We’ve nicknamed this episode the “my face hurts” episode as Walt and I have a lot of good laughs…usually at other people’s expense. No worries we tackle cigar related questions as well. Without Brian Hewitt to eat up all the air time this episode is shorter than usual. In fact, we actually tried out best to stretch it out. We talk about Cigars International and some issues with Padilla cigars that came up in the comments section of my Padilla Black Bear review. If your name is John Huber (who make fun of in the beginning and in the end) or Jason Cesari we make fun of you because we care. Regardless of the content, it’s an entertaining episode that was a lot of fun to record and we hope it provides some entertainment.

A few weeks ago, Jerry, Brian, Mike, and I sat down and recorded another episode of YQMA. Due to some time constraints it took us a little longer to get this episode put together than usual.

Back again with another episode of Your Questions, My Answers. In this episode we talk about the recent news of Jose Blanco joining Joya de Nicaragua and the impact it will have. From their we banter back and forth about smoking lounge etiquette and whether bringing your own cigars is acceptable or in bad taste. We spend a little time talking about butane and if it really matters how refined the fuel is. What humidity level should you have your humidor set at and how you can tell what level works best? We look back at some cigars that didn’t impress us at first but over time have come to love. We also do a little talking about things we do while smoking and how our review process works. Finally, we talk about how leasing factories work.

Thanks for the great feedback on the Season 2 Premiere of Your Questions, My Answers. Received a lot of great questions after that episode so I hope you guys keep them coming. In this episode we talk more about Cuban cigars, particularly why we don’t review them anymore. We also talk about how to prevent a beetle infestation and steps you can take to prevent them in the first place. We discuss our picks for our favorite maduro cigars and address a question about the difference between a maduro wrapper and a sun grown wrapper. During that topic, Brian Hewitt actually sheds light on a little known secret on how tobacco is actually grown. Back to the Cuban thing, we also mouth off about Cuban trademarks and who should actually own them when the embargo ends.

We decided to kickoff Season 2 of Your Questions, My Answers on the fly after being guests on Stogie411. Its me, Brian and Walt shooting the shit and talking about random topics. We talk about IPCPR, Crowned Heads, other blogs, cigar events and Walt gets all fiery when we talk about Oliva/Nub/Studio Tabac all he was missing was a podium and a machette and he’d look like Dictator. Enjoy.

Your Question, My Answers (YQMA) – Episode 46

If you have been a long time Stogie Review fan, you may be thinking that you are seeing things. An episode of Your Questions, My Answers (YQMA), is this right? Rest assured, this isn’t a hallucination and things have been set in motion to bring back YQMA as a regular part of the Stogie Review lineup. For the time being, we are going to say that YQMA will be a bi-weekly-ish show. Episodes 46 and 47 are complete and future shows have been mapped out.

Season 2, if you will, kicks off with Mike and me getting together on Skype to tackle a few questions. We tried to keep things laid back, and in doing so, the run time tops the charts at roughly 1 hour and 26 minutes. There was no particular rhyme or reason to our discussion topics, we simply seemed to bounce from one to the next.

Cigars Smoked in this episode included the La Gloria Cubana Artesanos de Miami (Walt) and the Arturo Fuente Curly Head (Mike).

After the introduction and some back and forth banter on our cigars and beverages, we get down to business.
