Stogie Review ‘Best Of’ Contest Winner

Last week I put together a contest announcement to give away a 5 Pack of Cain F Nub. In order to win, I asked everyone to put together a Stogie Review ‘Best Of’ list. We had some great entries come in, many of which brought back a variety of memories from the last couple of years. A winner was selected at random and thier entry has been posted below.

Congratulations

Buckhead Cigar Club – A Humidor Tour

We’ve posted reviews of cigar shops from across the country before. We’ve even reviewed Buckhead Cigar Club and thrown in some great still shots of the shop. Buckhead Cigar Club is the home shop of our own Brian “Mouth of the South” Hewitt and I’ve been fortunate enough to visit Buckhead on a few recent trips to Atlanta.

On my most recent trip I thought it would be cool to show you the humidor at Buckhead Cigar Club. The …

A Look at CigarPhoto.net

A few weeks ago, I new post popped up on the Stogie Review Fan Forum gaging interest in a photography driven cigar blog. The feedback was positive and our friend, Jay, set the wheels in motion to get the blog underway. A short time later I received a message fro Jay asking if we would be kind enough to post something about the site when it was ready for the public eye. We were happy to accomodate him.

Contest: Win a 5 Pack of Cain F Nub

Contest: Win a 5 Pack of Cain F Nub

Last week I spent a little time with Dave Wagner, Vice President of Sales for Oliva. Between cigars and off topic conversation, Dave asked if we still ran contests here on Stogie Review. When I told him product wasn’t as forthcoming as it used to be, he handed me a box of Cain F Nub to give away.

Rather than give the whole box away in one shot, I’ve decided to break it up into five packs. For …

Before You Buy That Top 10

Before You Buy That Top 10

This week the big dog barked, and all across the cigar-smoking country (and possibly the world), printers cranked to life, dutifully replicating the most anticipated top 10 list of the year. Chances are, you’ve seen it already. But before you take your printout, withdraw the $165.96 it would take to buy the ten smokes ($95.05 if you can’t buy Cubans) and drop by your local brick and mortar, we thought we’d humbly offer you a second opinion. Who knows, maybe …

The Cigar Network – Magazine Launch

The Cigar Network – Magazine Launch

Cigar magazines are an interesting piece of reading material. Some readers love them while others love to hate them. Each magazine has a different focus, making one more appealing than the others in the eyes of readers. When I got word from our friend Stephen Boyajian that he was releasing a magazine, my curiosity was piqued.

Throughout the time that Stephen was putting the magazine together, I had access to the beta site where I could see things develop. One …

Walt’s Top 10 Cigars of 2010

Walt’s Top 10 Cigars of 2010

Tis’ the season of the Top 10 Lists and things here at Stogie Review are no different. Over the last few days we have shared a variety of lists, including Mike’s Top 10 Cigars Smoked in 2010, Box Worthies: Brian’s Top 10 Cigars of 2010, and Top 10 Cigars of 2010: The Great Torpedo Edition.

This time it is my turn and I have to admit, it was extremely difficult to put a list together. With the …

The Box-Worthies: Brian’s Top 10 Cigars of 2010

The Box-Worthies: Brian’s Top 10 Cigars of 2010

It’s less than a week into 2010 and already top ten lists have been done to death. So why should you bother reading mine? Well, to begin with, isn’t mine really the one you’ve been waiting for? I know it’s the one I’ve been most looking forward to. Additionally, my top 10 differs from the others in that for a cigar to make it on my list, I had to smoke it in 2010, and it had pass through the …

  • I'm convinced at this point, the 1878 line from @pdrcigars is the 'Best Bang for your Buck' in the PDR portfolio. Some of his more expensive cigars just arent as good as this budget stick.
  • Smoking my first Flores y Rodriguez. The Flores, Id imagine, refers to Abe Flores of Pinar Del Rio.
  • IMO Enclosed Foot = "Sorry Sir, I couldn't be bothered to trip up that tobacco so I just wadded it up for you."
  • Box looks great, although it could have used more dry-time. Has a mild stain smell about it.
  • Got a @StudioTobac Sampler in the mail. Looks good, eager to smoke through them.
  • @LaAuroraCigars 107 Corona and @CAOCigars OSA cutter, together in harmony.
  • Have a bunch of things to wrap. Having a cigar to keep me company.
  • Nomad Cigars and Yuengling - 1
  • Have a busy morning ahead of me. It is such tough work but someone has to do it.
  • It is a little "Partagas Serie D No. 4" looking but I like the idea if small batch cigars from @pdrcigars
  • Nothing says Good Mornin' like an @EPCarrillo Elencos
  • Figures, 9 out of 10 were awesome and my last one has a lousy burn and produces virtually no smoke on the draw.
  • @jcruz @jonathandrew1 Same here and I guess you could call this Stogie Review Studios (North)
  • EP Carrillo New Wave Corona
  • Drew Estate Undercrown and Spyderco Native 4 - 1
  • Nub Connecticut 358 and Coffee - 1
  • Nub Connecticut 358 - 1
  • Sosa Underground - 1
