Whirlpool AP51030K Air Purifier Review

Welcome all my friends. I have had so much peer pressure put on me to get this review done, I figured I would cave in and do it now.

Yes, my head is cut off on most of it. Some may say that is a good thing.

I hope you enjoy the review and as always, leave a comment and let me know your thoughts. If everyone who dm’d, pm’d, emailed or even called me about this unit leaves a …

Your Questions, My Answers (YQMA) Episode 2.06

This is an old school episode of Your Questions, My Answers. All the other members were too lazy to make it so Walt and I kicked back just like we did when we first started the YQMA Series some years ago. We’ve nicknamed this episode the “my face hurts” episode as Walt and I have a lot of good laughs…usually at other people’s expense. No worries we tackle cigar related questions as well. Without Brian Hewitt to eat up all …

Maldonado Dynasty Mogul

Maldonado Dynasty Mogul

Back in November, Daniel (aka @Dalamscius) from Casas Fumando held a giveaway contest to raise money for the Movember campaign, which spreads awareness about men’s health issues, particularly prostate cancer. I was happy to make a small donation to help out a pal (who also happens to be active in the Stogie Review Fan Forums), and was thrilled to be chosen to receive a 5-pack of cigars donated by Maldonado Dynasty.

When my 5-pack of the …

Padilla Black Bear

Padilla Black Bear

The Padilla Black Bear seems to be one of those Cigars International and Cigar.com exclusives based on the popular Padilla Series 1968 blend. While I can’t confirm its the same binder and filler as the Series 1968, the Padilla Black Bear does have the popular Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper in the ever popular 6×60 size. Typically not a size I enjoy but lately I’ve been coming across blends where the 6×60 format actually works. At $7 a single you definitely appear …

Famous Nicaraguan 3000 (Humidor Diving)

Famous Nicaraguan 3000 (Humidor Diving)

Several years ago I was a proud member of the Club Stogie community. Club Stogie was a popular cigar forum, with a large member base, that was ‘newbie’ friendly. The community has since been purchased and folded into a larger community, which is nothing like it used to be, however, it was there that I got my feet wet in trading cigars. My eyes were opened to a variety of cigars that I couldn’t buy locally and I found my …

Nat Sherman Timeless – Churchill

Nat Sherman Timeless – Churchill

Well my friends I seemed to have forgotten to save the written part of my review for this Nat Sherman Timeless so you will be stuck with the video for this one.

I will tell you if I would buy it again. YES I would love to try more of all the sizes to pick the one I like the most but with the strength on some of them, I doubt I would smoke it all the time.

AUDIO –…

Humo Jaguar

Humo Jaguar

The story behind the Humo Jaguar is a simple one. The story goes that during the Honduran Cigar Festival this blend by Nestor Placenia was judged by 200 or so judges as the best blend of the Honduran Cigar Festival which I hear bears the same name as the cigar. Fast forward to IPCPR 2011 and the blend makes an appearance at the Miami Cigar booth. The Humo Jaguar is a Honduran puro with all of it’s elements (wrapper, binder …

La Reloba Seleccion Sumatra

La Reloba Seleccion Sumatra

One good thing about Cigar Aficionado’s Annual Top 25 List is that it occasionally puts the spot light on a popular cigar that we may have overlooked over the years. The La Reloba Seleccion Sumatra by My Father Cigars is one such cigar we’ve overlooked. Brian reviewed the La Reloba Seleccion Habano when it was released in 2010 and I reviewed the La Reloba Seleccion Mexico when the La Reloba line expanded in 2011. Some how we managed to review …

Villiger La Capitana (plus giveaway)

Villiger La Capitana (plus giveaway)

Recently, the marketing folks at Villiger Stokkebye reached out to us here at the Stogie Review to see if we’d be interested in reviewing a new cigar they were about to release. Best known for their pipe tobaccos, Villiger has produced machine-made cigars for over 120 years and added premium hand-rolled cigars to their repertoire in 2009. Their newest addition is La Capitana, which is designed to provide a full-bodied smoking experience.

I responded to Villiger by saying that …

  • I'm convinced at this point, the 1878 line from @pdrcigars is the 'Best Bang for your Buck' in the PDR portfolio. Some of his more expensive cigars just arent as good as this budget stick.
  • Smoking my first Flores y Rodriguez. The Flores, Id imagine, refers to Abe Flores of Pinar Del Rio.
  • IMO Enclosed Foot = "Sorry Sir, I couldn't be bothered to trip up that tobacco so I just wadded it up for you."
  • Box looks great, although it could have used more dry-time. Has a mild stain smell about it.
  • Got a @StudioTobac Sampler in the mail. Looks good, eager to smoke through them.
  • @LaAuroraCigars 107 Corona and @CAOCigars OSA cutter, together in harmony.
  • Have a bunch of things to wrap. Having a cigar to keep me company.
  • Nomad Cigars and Yuengling - 1
  • Have a busy morning ahead of me. It is such tough work but someone has to do it.
  • It is a little "Partagas Serie D No. 4" looking but I like the idea if small batch cigars from @pdrcigars
  • Nothing says Good Mornin' like an @EPCarrillo Elencos
  • Figures, 9 out of 10 were awesome and my last one has a lousy burn and produces virtually no smoke on the draw.
  • @jcruz @jonathandrew1 Same here and I guess you could call this Stogie Review Studios (North)
  • EP Carrillo New Wave Corona
  • Drew Estate Undercrown and Spyderco Native 4 - 1
  • Nub Connecticut 358 and Coffee - 1
