Today I have a first impressions of the 1844 cigar that is available from CI and it’s organizations and is made by AJ Fernandez.

Your Questions, My Answers – Episode 203

Back again with another episode of Your Questions, My Answers. In this episode we talk about the recent news of Jose Blanco joining Joya de Nicaragua and the impact it will have. From their we banter back and forth about smoking lounge etiquette and whether bringing your own cigars is acceptable or in bad taste. We spend a little time talking about butane and if it really matters how refined the fuel is. What humidity level should you have your …

Casa Fernandez Cuban Seed Corojo 2006

Casa Fernandez Cuban Seed Corojo 2006

In an effort to be more consistent, Ed and I barely made our August spot on The Stogie Review. But we made it damnit! A big challenge we’ve had lately is figuring out what to review. It is often over thought, and to be bluntly honest, Ed is a picky bastard who won’t just review any cigar.

So this month we went old school and just walked the shop. Within three minutes we randomly picked the Casa Fernandez Cuban Seed

Laying Down the Law

In the first two episodes of Your Questions, My Answers (Season 2) we’ve talk a lot about Cuban cigars. Particularly about what will happen when the Cuban Embargo is lifted and about Cuban trademarks. Our answers were typically uninformed and mainly for entertainment purposes. In cases where we aren’t educated or have enough background about a topic, in this case Cuban trademarks, we try and reach out to someone who is more knowledgable in the subject. Luckily for us, Frank …

809 Connecticut

809 Connecticut

Today I have another bundle cigar review for you and that is the 809 Connecticut in the toro size. This cigar is made by the Pride Cigar Company but there is very little information available about it. I have found a couple other 809 flavors online also.

I have been having computer problems so this will not be a full writeup like usual as I am just hoping to keep the computer running long enough to edit the video.

La Casita Criolla

La Casita Criolla

The newly release La Casita Criolla has been the buzz in the online cigar world way before it was released at IPCPR. The all Connecticut broadleaf cigar interested many and perplexed others who weren’t quite sure if an all broadleaf cigar would work. Would the La Casita Criolla wbe one of those “too much of a good thing…?” I’ll admit I was skeptical myself. Broadleaf tobacco is a favorite wrapper of mine but I never paid much attention to its …

Illusione Burn – First Impressions

Illusione Burn – First Impressions

Wrapper : Criollo 98
Binder : Nicaraguan
Filler : Nicaraguan
Source : was a gift

Hopefully I have a nice treat for you today as I will be reviewing the Illusione Burn in the Toro Grande size (6×56).

This cigar is made for Rocky Patel’s Burn Lounge in Naples Florida. There were only 50 boxes of each of the four vitola’s that were made. I have read some people found this cigar in Dion’s shop in Nevada but I have …

  • I'm convinced at this point, the 1878 line from @pdrcigars is the 'Best Bang for your Buck' in the PDR portfolio. Some of his more expensive cigars just arent as good as this budget stick.
  • Smoking my first Flores y Rodriguez. The Flores, Id imagine, refers to Abe Flores of Pinar Del Rio.
  • IMO Enclosed Foot = "Sorry Sir, I couldn't be bothered to trip up that tobacco so I just wadded it up for you."
  • Box looks great, although it could have used more dry-time. Has a mild stain smell about it.
  • Got a @StudioTobac Sampler in the mail. Looks good, eager to smoke through them.
  • @LaAuroraCigars 107 Corona and @CAOCigars OSA cutter, together in harmony.
  • Have a bunch of things to wrap. Having a cigar to keep me company.
  • Nomad Cigars and Yuengling - 1
  • Have a busy morning ahead of me. It is such tough work but someone has to do it.
  • It is a little "Partagas Serie D No. 4" looking but I like the idea if small batch cigars from @pdrcigars
  • Nothing says Good Mornin' like an @EPCarrillo Elencos
  • Figures, 9 out of 10 were awesome and my last one has a lousy burn and produces virtually no smoke on the draw.
  • @jcruz @jonathandrew1 Same here and I guess you could call this Stogie Review Studios (North)
  • EP Carrillo New Wave Corona
  • Drew Estate Undercrown and Spyderco Native 4 - 1
  • Nub Connecticut 358 and Coffee - 1
  • Nub Connecticut 358 - 1
