La Aurora Broadway Series

La Aurora Broadway Series

Its great to be back to reviewing cigars and for my first review of 2011 I’m reviewing the relatively new La Aurora Broadway Series. Currently the Broadway is available in one size, a Sumo Toro (5.75 x 54) and features a double wrapper of Ecuadorian-grown, Sumatra-seed and Nicaraguan leaves, a Dominican Corojo binder and filler tobaccos grown in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Peru. The La Aurora Broadway Series is only available from tobacconists in New York for $12.75 …

I am back once again, this time I have for you a limited release cigar, the Gran Habano Gran Reserva #3 in the Gran Robusto size. That’s a lot of Gran’s.

As for the limited availability, there are 1200 …

San Lotano Habano Robusto

San Lotano Habano Robusto

A.J. Fernandez’s San Lotano is a line of cigars that has been a long time coming. I was introduced to it in its pre-release form at the 2009 trade show. But you could also say the San Lotano is a long time returning. Because once upon a time, in the sepia-toned pre-Castro past, Fernandez’s grandfather produced a popular Cuban cigar by the same name, so the press release tells us:

With a rich history, San Lotano dates back to

Illusione Epernay Le Monde (Joint Review)

The Following Post comes courtesy of
Tom from Tom’s Cigars

It’s been awhile, but Ed and I are back home on the Stogie Review. Where were we? Well, Ed has been busy moving his shop into a new lot, expanding his inventory, and building a cigar lounge. Some of you already know that I’ve been over on my own site slacking off. Ed and I figured it would only be fitting mark our return and do a joint review with …

Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend

Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend

Today I have for you a review of the Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend in the Robusto Grande size. I did this as a short review since Walt reviewed this same cigar back in 2007 and I wanted to see if I would get the same things as he did and to see if there were any changes in the cigar since almost 4 years ago.

I hope you enjoy the video and it may go better with a glass of …

La Caridad Del Cobre La Charada No. 48 “La Cucaracha”

La Caridad Del Cobre La Charada No. 48 “La Cucaracha”

I have for you this week a cigar whose cryptic name is nearly as long as the smoke itself. Before I get into the nuts and bolts of the review, let’s break that mouthful down. The vitola’s name is La Charada No. 48 “La Cucaracha”, which translates into a pretty random sounding The Charade No. 48 “The Roach”. But there is a meaning to this name charade, which people of Cuban descent may have already guessed.

La Charada …

Herding Stogies: A Composite Top 10

Herding Stogies: A Composite Top 10

“What’s this? Another top ten list?! Surely you can’t be serious!” Oh, but I am, and stop calling me Shirley. (R.I.P. Leslie Nielsen) This isn’t any ordinary cigar top ten list, it’s a fusion of geekery, curiosity and hours of Excel spreadsheet work.

The other day I was reading “These Lists Don’t Lie” on the Drew Estate blog about all the top ten lists on the net that feature some variety of Liga Privada. It really looked like they cleaned …

Figured I would throw my ramblings on video for you all to see and hear about my first year with Stogie Review.

Nothing groundbreaking here but this was a hell of a lot easier than doing a review LOL

Nick’s Sticks Connecticut – Churchill

Wrapper : Nicaraguan
Binder : Nicaraguan
Filler : Nicaraguan
Source : local store with my wife’s money

Pre-Light

Welcome to this week’s review of the Nick’s Sticks Connecticut churchill. This cigar has some fun history and you should head over to Perdomo’s website to take a gander.

As some of you know, I have been fighting the flu since last Wednesday/Thursday. I was feeling like someone ran me over with a steamroller and then decided to throw me in a …

  • I'm convinced at this point, the 1878 line from @pdrcigars is the 'Best Bang for your Buck' in the PDR portfolio. Some of his more expensive cigars just arent as good as this budget stick.
  • Smoking my first Flores y Rodriguez. The Flores, Id imagine, refers to Abe Flores of Pinar Del Rio.
  • IMO Enclosed Foot = "Sorry Sir, I couldn't be bothered to trip up that tobacco so I just wadded it up for you."
  • Box looks great, although it could have used more dry-time. Has a mild stain smell about it.
  • Got a @StudioTobac Sampler in the mail. Looks good, eager to smoke through them.
  • @LaAuroraCigars 107 Corona and @CAOCigars OSA cutter, together in harmony.
  • Have a bunch of things to wrap. Having a cigar to keep me company.
  • Nomad Cigars and Yuengling - 1
  • Have a busy morning ahead of me. It is such tough work but someone has to do it.
  • It is a little "Partagas Serie D No. 4" looking but I like the idea if small batch cigars from @pdrcigars
  • Nothing says Good Mornin' like an @EPCarrillo Elencos
  • Figures, 9 out of 10 were awesome and my last one has a lousy burn and produces virtually no smoke on the draw.
  • @jcruz @jonathandrew1 Same here and I guess you could call this Stogie Review Studios (North)
