Augusto Reyes Signature (Short Ashes)

Augusto Reyes Signature (Short Ashes)

At this years IPCPR Trade Show in New Orleans, I was introduced to a few new brands. One of those brands, while not new to the industry, was Augusto Reyes. Having talked on Twitter, I was looking forward to getting over to the booth and sampling the brand. In addition to the sample I was given at the Augusto Reyes booth, I also came home with samples in my TBOTLCH Press Kit.

With time coming at …

Oliva Serie V Liga Especial (Blind Tasting)

Oliva Serie V Liga Especial (Blind Tasting)

Last week I packed up my gear, hopped in the car, and took a trip down to Sir Stogies. As you may recall from last weeks post, I had a blind cigar tasting scheduled. I hung out with about a dozen guys, handed them an unbanded cigar, and turned on the video camera. The video below is what came to be from that event.

The cigar smoked was the Oliva Serie V Liga Especial Double Robusto. I …

Doing this a little differently this week to see how it goes.

Master by Carlos Toraño

Master by Carlos Toraño

I’m excited! I finally beat Brian Hewitt to reviewing a cigar that he liked. Suck it Hewitt! Anyway, by now most of you have heard about the new releases by Toraño Family Cigars. The Master by Carlos Toraño is a collaboration between Charlie Toraño and master roller Felipe Sosa. Available in four sizes with the robusto coming in at under $6 a cigar. Going into IPCPR, the Master by Carlos Toraño wasn’t even on my radar. For whatever reason …

Mike’s Humidor Tour

First off I used the Kodak Zi8 camcorder and the audio gave the noise again. I am sending it back for repair so the next few reviews will probably be with the old camcorder.

I kept getting asked to do a humidor tour, so here it is, short and sweet. After watching this you will understand why I did not think people would be very excited about it.

Enjoy the tour.

Perdomo Cuban Bullet Version 2.0

Note – sorry for the video and audio quality. Been talking with Kodak about my camcorder and trying to get a lapel mic to try on it also. Hopefully it will be good to go for my next review. This was done on my computer with my webcam.

I have for you today, another low cost cigar from Perdomo called the Cuban

  • I'm convinced at this point, the 1878 line from @pdrcigars is the 'Best Bang for your Buck' in the PDR portfolio. Some of his more expensive cigars just arent as good as this budget stick.
  • Smoking my first Flores y Rodriguez. The Flores, Id imagine, refers to Abe Flores of Pinar Del Rio.
  • IMO Enclosed Foot = "Sorry Sir, I couldn't be bothered to trip up that tobacco so I just wadded it up for you."
  • Box looks great, although it could have used more dry-time. Has a mild stain smell about it.
  • Got a @StudioTobac Sampler in the mail. Looks good, eager to smoke through them.
  • @LaAuroraCigars 107 Corona and @CAOCigars OSA cutter, together in harmony.
  • Have a bunch of things to wrap. Having a cigar to keep me company.
  • Nomad Cigars and Yuengling - 1
  • Have a busy morning ahead of me. It is such tough work but someone has to do it.
  • It is a little "Partagas Serie D No. 4" looking but I like the idea if small batch cigars from @pdrcigars
  • Nothing says Good Mornin' like an @EPCarrillo Elencos
  • Figures, 9 out of 10 were awesome and my last one has a lousy burn and produces virtually no smoke on the draw.
  • @jcruz @jonathandrew1 Same here and I guess you could call this Stogie Review Studios (North)
  • EP Carrillo New Wave Corona
  • Drew Estate Undercrown and Spyderco Native 4 - 1
  • Nub Connecticut 358 and Coffee - 1
  • Nub Connecticut 358 - 1
