CI Legends – Red Label

Welcome back for the next installment from the CI Legends series. Today boys and girls I will be reviewing the CI Legends Red Label.
Taking a whiff of the wrapper and foot and the only scent present is a natural tobacco. This is the same on the cold draw also.
Starting out this CI Legends Red Label and the first couple puffs provide a leather taste.
I will note this is the only one in the legends series that …
Quesada Q D’etat Molotov

Ever since I fell in love with the Domus Magnus last year I’ve been on this journey tasting all things under the Quesada umbrella. One of the newer releases is the Q D’etat Series. The first of what is to be three releases is the Quesada Q D’etat Molotov. An interesting shaped Dominican puro perfecto where the ring gauge is listed in three sizes 38/58/44. If you watched our 16 Minutes with Terence Reilly interview you will know …
Nub Connecticut 358

I think I just heard the collective sigh of every single Stogie Review reader around the globe. I know, we’ve covered Nub Cigars to death over the years and we are at the point now where it feels like beating a dead horse. With that said, there is a method to my madness. This isn’t just a review, but a serious inquiry as well.
You see, earlier this week I found myself in a position where I was tight on …
CI Legends – Blue Label

Welcome my friends to the next in the CI Legends series, this time the Blue Label made by Matasa.
Just like all the others this one is available only from Cigars International and only in one size, 5.75 x 54.
Sniffing the wrapper gives a sweet tobacco scent while the foot and cold draw just give a tobacco scent.
Starting off with this CI Legends Blue Label and there is a nice creamy wood flavor filling my palette.…
Sosa Underground (First Impressions)

Several years ago I used to frequent JM Cigars in Exton, Pennsylvania. It was a long drive (approximately 45 minutes) but this particular shop wasn’t far from a friends house and they had the largest walk-in humidor in the area. I used to love dropping in on a Friday afternoon and pacing up and down the humidor, searching out new product.
One of the cigars routinely stocked was the Sosa line. On a whim, I picked one up and enjoyed …
CI Legends – White Label

Quick writeup this week as I almost forgot to post this.
I was very surprised by this CI Legends White Label by Camacho as it was a lot better than I honestly thought it would be.
Medium to full body with nice flavors of nuts, wood and spice.
I did have a bit of ammonia in one I smoked but none of the others.
Enjoy the review and give them a shot.

Ashton ESG – 23 Year Salute

While we have an assortment of reviews of the Ashton VSG it is surprising that we haven’t reviewed anything in the Ashton ESG Series. I would’ve thought our resident baller, Brian Hewitt, with all his Zino, Davidoff and Ashton dinners would’ve reviewed one of the four releases by now. Maybe it is the $20+ price tag of the ESG? I won’t rehash all the details you probably already know about the Ashton Estate Sun Grown like how the ESG …
Casa Magna Sanchos

Hello my fellow cigar smokers and welcome to my take on the Casa Magna Sanchos.
Been a little hectic around here with colds. flu, allergies, and assorted aches and pains but hopefully I am back and ready to go.
This is just a short review of the Casa Magna Sanchos and I will let the video do most of the talking for me. I will say, try them if you can find them and if anyone thinks these are …
Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story Maduro

Limited to 1,000 boxes and only available at select retailers the Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story Maduro has been a cigar that has eluded our Cigar Review Index for six years. Honestly when the e-mail came in asking for us to review this cigar I honestly thought we had but after scouring the site, it dawned on me that we’ve overlooked it. The Short Story Maduro features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with the binder and filler from the Dominican Republic …
Man O’War Phalanx (Side Projects)

Surprises are nice. For those of you who are fans of the Man O’War series like I am knew we had a maduro version of the Puro Authentico to look forward to this year. A couple weeks ago what should show up on CI, Cigar.com and their associated catalogs? The Man O’War Side Projects series. Currently the Side Project series features three cigars. The 52C (a Chisel format), the Little Devil (similar size of the Puro Authentico) and finally the …
