CAO America Anthem

CAO America Anthem

Wrapper : Connecticut maduro and shade barber poled
Binder : Brazilian maduro
Filler : Nicaraguan, Italian, American and Dominican Republic
Source : bought at my local shop

I am going to be doing the CAO America Anthem size for my weekend long celebration of Independence Day.

Right off the bat, these are very overpriced, in my opinion. This stick will run you around $25.00 while the other America sticks are multitudes cheaper. You could buy a three pack of bottlerockets …

Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 (Short Ashes)

Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 (Short Ashes)

As the hour grew late, I was under a bit of pressure to come up with a review for today. Having put things off until the last minute, I was feverishly trying to find something in my humidor that I could review in short order. After poking around, picking cigars up, putting them back, then picking them up again, I finally decided on the Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 in a Short Ashes format.

As with all of my other …

Jet 1300-c Butane Lighter

Jet 1300-c Butane Lighter

Welcome to, I think, my first accessory review. Today is going to be the very inexpensive Jet 1300-C Butane Lighter.

I received two of these lighters from jjo along with a nice selection of cigars, in the hopes I could do a comparison review to something similar like the Blazer. I have not been able to lay my hands on one of those lighters so I figured I would just a simple review of this one and if I …

Herf’n Heads – Featuring Angelenos

A couple of weeks ago, Mike and I got together for a Virtual Herf and put together another Herf’n Heads Episode. This time around, Mike and I feature the Angelenos Cigar from Prometheus.

In between discussing the cigar, we cover topics such as the state of Olde World Tobacco in Lancaster, PA. Mike tells us about the closure of the last cigar company in Red Lion. While discussing the significant price reduction of the Macanudo 68, the …

Corona Cigar Company 10th Anniversary Robusto

Corona Cigar Company 10th Anniversary Robusto

Welcome to another one of my first impression reviews, this time on the Corona Cigar Company’s 10th Anniversary cigar in the robusto (5×50) size.

Starting off, the wrapper is a little lumpy at places and does not have much of a scent. I get some wood from the foot and on the cold draw.

Lighting it up and I am hit with a lot of sweetness. It is that sweet that I am thinking it has a sweetened …

Nica Libre Principe – First Impressions

Nica Libre Principe – First Impressions

Welcome to another of my first impressions videos where i give you the low down on a cigar that I have not smoked any more than three of.

This week it is the Nica Libre Principe cigar available from CI.

This cigar is available in five sizes and at prices under $3 a stick.

This Nica Libre Principe starts off with a little bit of a hay taste with a background of chocolate. Some of the chocolate is sweet and …

  • I'm convinced at this point, the 1878 line from @pdrcigars is the 'Best Bang for your Buck' in the PDR portfolio. Some of his more expensive cigars just arent as good as this budget stick.
  • Smoking my first Flores y Rodriguez. The Flores, Id imagine, refers to Abe Flores of Pinar Del Rio.
  • IMO Enclosed Foot = "Sorry Sir, I couldn't be bothered to trip up that tobacco so I just wadded it up for you."
  • Box looks great, although it could have used more dry-time. Has a mild stain smell about it.
  • Got a @StudioTobac Sampler in the mail. Looks good, eager to smoke through them.
  • @LaAuroraCigars 107 Corona and @CAOCigars OSA cutter, together in harmony.
  • Have a bunch of things to wrap. Having a cigar to keep me company.
  • Nomad Cigars and Yuengling - 1
  • Have a busy morning ahead of me. It is such tough work but someone has to do it.
  • It is a little "Partagas Serie D No. 4" looking but I like the idea if small batch cigars from @pdrcigars
  • Nothing says Good Mornin' like an @EPCarrillo Elencos
  • Figures, 9 out of 10 were awesome and my last one has a lousy burn and produces virtually no smoke on the draw.
  • @jcruz @jonathandrew1 Same here and I guess you could call this Stogie Review Studios (North)
