Romeo y Julieta – Reserve Maduro

As I posted the other day, I wanted to get a review up for a Romeo y Julieta ? Reserve Maduro. I had a chance to smoke two over the past two days.

The first RyJ I smoke was one that was given to me recently by a friend. It was purchased last week so it had no age to it that I knew of. This cigar did not disappoint. It was mild but smooth and creamy. I smoked …

Coolidor up and running.

I’ve recently posted in regards to the samplers I ordered over the weekend. My cigars arrived last night and I needed a place to put them. I had 45 sticks delivered and I was tight on space. After some reading I decided to make a coolidor. I’m happy to say its working great and I have a ton of space for future cigars.

What I did was take an old coleman cooler (11″ W x 11″ L x 18″ D) …

Subscription to Cigar Magazine

About two weeks ago I was driving to all the local cigar shops in my area to try and find the latest issue of Cigar Magazine. I didn’t have any luck finding it and ended up borrowing a friends copy. After all the hassle I decided that I should just go ahead and order a subscription.

I jumped on the website and saw what i thought was a good deal. I picked up a 2 year subscription (8 issues) for …

Humidification Beads

I just placed my order for one pound of Heartfelt humidification beads. I saw great reviews on few websites i frequent, and I thought I would give them a try.

From what I’ve read these beads are similar to silica beads with the exception that they absorb and release humidity. Sold in relative humidity ratings of 60, 65, and 70% they are supposed to hold that humidity in your humidor by releasing water vapor when things start to get dry, …

Ring Gauge: 50

In my last review I made mention that I ordered a ten pack of cigars from Cigars International. The review I’m posting now is for the other cigar in that pack. The Gurkha Regent.

I went through with the same precautions as always to try and get the most out of the cigar. The first thing I noticed about …

Punch – Magnum

Origin: Honduras
Length: 5.25
Ring: 54
Strength: Medium-Full
Wrapper Type: Ecuador Sumatran

I was browsing through my Cigars International mail order catalog one night and came across a deal I though was pretty good. The sampler I ordered contained ten cigars, five Punch Magnums and five Gurkha Class Regents. I have had a curiosity about Gurkha cigars for some time now and have been dying to try one. My experience with the Punch brand was limited …

Nat Sherman 1400 Series – Palma Grand

Origin: Nicaragua
Length: 6.50
Ring Gauge: 44
Wrapper: Ecuador Sumatran
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua

I was browsing through my JR Cigars mail order catalog early last week when I came across an advertisement for these cigars. I typically wouldn’t be too interested in ordering Nat Sherman cigars as I’ve always been told they were very mild. After doing a little research I read reviews that were full of positive comments on the smoothness …

Don Pepin Garcia Black Label – Perla (Short Ashes)

Not too long ago I did a Short Ashes video on the Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic, which I completely forgot about until after I recorded this video. The cigar of the afternoon was one that went through a properly conditioned environment (My cooler), to spending 2 weeks in transit (given a bad shipping address), then was returned to me where it spend roughly a year and a half in my cooler once again.

I thought it would be …

  • I'm convinced at this point, the 1878 line from @pdrcigars is the 'Best Bang for your Buck' in the PDR portfolio. Some of his more expensive cigars just arent as good as this budget stick.
  • Smoking my first Flores y Rodriguez. The Flores, Id imagine, refers to Abe Flores of Pinar Del Rio.
  • IMO Enclosed Foot = "Sorry Sir, I couldn't be bothered to trip up that tobacco so I just wadded it up for you."
  • Box looks great, although it could have used more dry-time. Has a mild stain smell about it.
  • Got a @StudioTobac Sampler in the mail. Looks good, eager to smoke through them.
  • @LaAuroraCigars 107 Corona and @CAOCigars OSA cutter, together in harmony.
  • Have a bunch of things to wrap. Having a cigar to keep me company.
  • Nomad Cigars and Yuengling - 1
  • Have a busy morning ahead of me. It is such tough work but someone has to do it.
  • It is a little "Partagas Serie D No. 4" looking but I like the idea if small batch cigars from @pdrcigars
  • Nothing says Good Mornin' like an @EPCarrillo Elencos
  • Figures, 9 out of 10 were awesome and my last one has a lousy burn and produces virtually no smoke on the draw.
  • @jcruz @jonathandrew1 Same here and I guess you could call this Stogie Review Studios (North)
