Room 101 Cigars Contest: We Have A Winner

During the month of November, Stogie Review offered our readers / viewers a chance to win a box of Room 101 Cigars. In order to enter yourself into the random drawing, we asked everyone to submit their “Matt Booth Pose”.

Throughout the contest we received some awesome entries. Some looked really cool and one or two others had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. In the end we had a total of nineteen entries. Brian, …

Oliva Serie O Maduro (Twitter Review)

Oliva Serie O Maduro (Twitter Review)

Believe it or not, here it is, time for another Stogie Review Tweet-View, and I’m sick once again. Unlike last month when I was laid up in bed, this time I seem to have come down with allergies, or the like, and found myself completely congested. Not wanting to bail out of a second Twitter Review in such a close time-frame, I gritted it out and smoked along with the guys.

Due to my congestion, I was unable to taste …

You Answer Your Own Emails?

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been getting the funniest emails from our readers. After submitting a question through our contact form and receiving a reply from Brian, Jerry, or myself, the response generally looks something like this.

Oh man dude, I am so impressed that you actually responded to me….

In addition to the response above, I’ve been seeing a lot of “I can’t believe you answer your own emails”. As if Stogie Review has a …

ORTSAC 1962 Robusto (Short Ashes)

ORTSAC 1962 Robusto (Short Ashes)

Back in June, I received a few samples of a new cigar called the ORTSAC 1962 (Castro spelled backwards). The cigars were sent my way by Victor Vitale of the Cigar Agency and he asked that I smoke them and give him my opinion. After smoking a few samples, I moved right along and reviewed them here on Stogie Review.

Those initial samples were good solid cigars, but they were entirely too consistent for my taste. In that review …

Stogie Review Needs Your Help

If anyone reading this has a blog, you probably know what its like to be slammed with a case of bloggers / writers block. It is probably the very thing responsible for claiming the lives of so many blogs. Essentially, if you can’t come up with content, it is tough to keep your site moving.

Imagine, if you will, getting yourself your favorite beverage and a nice cigar. You plan on sitting down to hammer out a couple of quick …

Ask The Readers: Your Thoughts on Seconds?

I was talking with my father yesterday, and an interesting subject popped up. I don’t recall what exactly brought it on, but we managed to get to talking about the selection of seconds that were available from select manufacturers. Mid way through our discussion I made mention that this would make an interesting little write-up on Stogie Review, however it probably wouldn’t make me many friends in the industry.

The discussion with my father revolved around the definition of a …

Xikar Xi3 Carbon Cutter

Xikar Xi3 Carbon Cutter

With my free time stretched a little thin these last couple of weeks, I wanted to find a way to incorporate the usual write-up with a video. The hitch was finding a way that wouldn’t take the usual amount of time to accomplish such a feat. After giving it some consideration, I thought a product review with a little video might be a nice change of pace. What I have for you is a look at the Xikar Xi3 Carbon

Stogie Photo Streams

  • I'm convinced at this point, the 1878 line from @pdrcigars is the 'Best Bang for your Buck' in the PDR portfolio. Some of his more expensive cigars just arent as good as this budget stick.
  • Smoking my first Flores y Rodriguez. The Flores, Id imagine, refers to Abe Flores of Pinar Del Rio.
  • IMO Enclosed Foot = "Sorry Sir, I couldn't be bothered to trip up that tobacco so I just wadded it up for you."
  • Box looks great, although it could have used more dry-time. Has a mild stain smell about it.
  • Got a @StudioTobac Sampler in the mail. Looks good, eager to smoke through them.
  • @LaAuroraCigars 107 Corona and @CAOCigars OSA cutter, together in harmony.
  • Have a bunch of things to wrap. Having a cigar to keep me company.
  • Nomad Cigars and Yuengling - 1
  • Have a busy morning ahead of me. It is such tough work but someone has to do it.
  • It is a little "Partagas Serie D No. 4" looking but I like the idea if small batch cigars from @pdrcigars
  • Nothing says Good Mornin' like an @EPCarrillo Elencos
  • Figures, 9 out of 10 were awesome and my last one has a lousy burn and produces virtually no smoke on the draw.
  • @jcruz @jonathandrew1 Same here and I guess you could call this Stogie Review Studios (North)
  • EP Carrillo New Wave Corona
  • Drew Estate Undercrown and Spyderco Native 4 - 1
  • Nub Connecticut 358 and Coffee - 1
  • Nub Connecticut 358 - 1
  • Sosa Underground - 1
