A Thank You (IPCPR 2012)

As our 2012 IPCPR coverage comes to a close (Walt has a short video left to post…) I wanted to post a quick thank you. The past week we have seen record visits to Stogie Review and record views of our IPCPR videos. I might be the most vocal member of Team Stogie Review but I am hardly its hardest worker. This year’s coverage of IPCPR was a total team effort. It was a pleasure working with Walt, Brian and Charlie and seeing us all hustle towards the common goal of providing you, our viewers, with timely, diverse, entertaining and informative coverage of IPCPR.

Last year at the 2011 IPCPR we totalled 44 videos that spanned 3 hours and 34 minutes. I’m happy to report that we shattered that record. We again hit the ground running as soon as we arrived and at this year’s IPCPR we totalled 62 videos (all in 720P HD) that spanned 6 hours and 53 minutes. How much coverage did you read/watch from traditional media? We caught up with the usual cast of characters like Ernesto Perez Carrillo, Pete Johnson and Dion Giolito. We got to break in the next generation of Alec Bradley by interviewing Alec Rubin. The view that the industry has of bloggers is important to us. The word “blogger” should not be a bad word. We fully embrace the word “blogger”. We are bloggers and so we asked a good deal of manufacturers how they felt about bloggers being at the show. The answers were interesting (I’ll save that for another post).

Record setting IPCPR coverage for us! We truly hope that our coverage made you feel like you were there with us, bouncing from booth to booth and enjoying the smell of freedom. We hope that you found our coverage to be entertaining and informative. Long days on the show floor, long evenings editing video or covering the after parties, questionable two star accommodations and the endless meals at IHOP. It was a lot of work and a lot fun.

Personally I’m thankful that I’m surrounded by good people like Walt, Brian and Charlie, who have the same work ethic and professionalism that I do. Not a single complaint was heard. We just set out to do our best for you. You! Yes you! You are the biggest reason for our successful coverage. All this content would mean nothing if no one watched it. So whether this is your first year joining us for coverage or if you’ve been with us since the beginning…thank you.

  1. Awesome job as always! You guys took it to another level. I feel people in the industry know who’s real and who’s not and that is why you guys always get the time/interviews from the manufacturers. Keep it up!
