A few weeks ago Mike and I got together to do some Cigarfest 2011 Coverage. We headed up to the Poconos a day early to attend a Studio Tobac World Tour event at Atlantic Cigar. While snapping a few pictures to post on Twitter, Bryan Scholle tapped me on the shoulder and handed me a cigar. He said that he called this creation the “Donkey Punch“.
Bryan went on to explain that the filler was made …
First and foremost remember freedom isn’t free. During your cookouts, cigars and libations please take a moment to remember those who paid the ultimate price. Keep them and their families in your thoughts and/or prayers.
Earlier this month, General Cigar Co release the El Perrito War of Flavors. A cigar entirely crafted by hand. Not even a cigar mold is used. Featuring a Ecuadoran Habano wrapper, Connecticut Broadleaf binder and a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos as filler. …
I’m late in posting this but last week I had the chance to sit in on a relatively new cigar podcast call BOTCAST. The crew from the BOTCAST were nice enough to invite me on their show and we had a great time discussing cigars and buck fever. These guys come from a rich background in the pipe world and its great to see them move over to the world of cigars. I had a blast just sitting back and …

Well thanx to Walt for pointing these out to me (and getting me in even more trouble with the wife) so I can do another series type review for your enjoyment. This time I am going to be doing a sampler of Augusto Reyes cigars including the Epicur, Criollo, Maduro, Grand Cru and Nativo all in the toro size.

Earlier this week I was browsing through Facebook updates when I came across an interesting teaser from Rob Heming, host of the Blowin’ Smoke Podcast. Rob said that a source informed him that Sam Leccia would be making an annoucement the following day regarding his return to the cigar industry.
Since Sam’s departure from Oliva, he has been pretty quiet. As the months passed, Sam began updating Facebook and Twitter here and there. By dipping his toes …
With a break in travel I thought I’d get up to speed on another edition of Week in Smoke. Had a wonderful family reunion in Las Vegas…sprinkled in a little bit of work but got to do a lot of exciting things with Gracie. If you’re looking to do family things in Las Vegas I highly recommend the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage and if you have a rental car, …
When General Cigar shipped me a five pack of the new Punch Rare Corojo 10th Anniversary edition cigars, I decided to let them rest a while. I knew that probably meant that Jerry would beat me to the review (he did, sorta), but I wanted to give them a fair shake. So far my experience with the Rare Corojo line has been mostly indifference. I had a few years ago that I enjoyed, but more recent experiences have …
Well here I am for my Tuesday slot, that I keep forgetting about, and I am thinking I am going to keep this format of just doing a first impressions video and letting the video do the talking (or maybe not).
Here is a bit about the cigar copied from CI’s website since they are the only ones that have this (along with their other company cigar.com)

A few weeks back I was sitting in Sir Stogies talking to the owner, Tim. We were hashing out the details of another Blind Tasting with a timeframe of the weekend after Cigarfest. As the days ticked away, we firmed up our plans and Tim began signing up customers to participate in the tasting.
Rather than the large group of the previous tastings, Tim and I wanted to cap it at about ten people and corral everyone into one …
