I’d like to thank Brian Gulley for contacting me telling me about the El Triunfador SODO. Brian recalled my review of the original release of the El Triunfador and wanted me to try the SODO Edition that were made for his local B&M J&J Cigars in Seattle WA. Brian was gracious enough to send me a handful of samples for this review.
I didn’t bother to do any homework on the El Triunfador SODO even though Brian sent me a …
The Blind Tasting was held at 3:00pm EST and run until roughly 4:30. I will have the edited video available for viewing sometime this week. The cigar we smoked was the La Aurora 1495 Brazilian Maduro.

I am starting off another series review for your enjoyment. This time it is going to be the Cigar.com house blends. All of these will be in the robusto size (5 x 50).
First one is going to be the Cameroon Label.
Checking out the Cigar.com Cameroon Label and the cigar feels a little hard but not too awful bad. On the other ones …

Ed and I are back on The Stogie Review for our monthly guest spot. With his new shop capacity, he is able to carry more brands. This new expansion has created a flurry of activity as well. This kind of threw us off, and you’ll probably notice us getting distracted during the review and a couple mishaps here and …
Last week I put together a contest announcement to give away a 5 Pack of Cain F Nub. In order to win, I asked everyone to put together a Stogie Review ‘Best Of’ list. We had some great entries come in, many of which brought back a variety of memories from the last couple of years. A winner was selected at random and thier entry has been posted below.

In November I sat down with Dave Wagner, VP of Sales at Oliva, to discuss Sam Leccia’s departure from Oliva. As the conversation came to a close, Dave mentioned that Studio Tobac was going to create an Advisory Board to bounce new product ideas and samples off of. I was asked if I would be interested in being a part of that board. After a bit more discussion on the role of this Advisory Board, I accepted.…

Welcome back to my little corner of the galaxy and this weeks review of the A. Turrent Triple Play in the Gran Toro size. Today’s review is a little special because I believe it is only one of three cigars made with maduro used for wrapper, binder, and filler. Of course the other 2 are the Camacho Triple …
I’m writing this installment of Week in Smoke as I sit at Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta GA waiting on stand-by for a flight home. Just so you know, the WiFi options in Concourse C are very sad. Luckily I have my jailbroken iPhone and a nifty app called MyWii and since I’m grandfathered into a AT&T unlimited data plan I’m even sharing the connection with my fellow travelers. Good deed for the day is done!
The past two weeks I’ve …
Earlier this week I put together a post outlining my first impression of the Curivari Reserva Limitada – Classica Epicure. In that review I made note that I was impressed with the cigar and looked forward to smoking through the remainder of my samples (courtesy of Jim Cronin at Top Shelf Cigar Co.). A few hours after recording that first video, I decided to fire up the camera again and record my first impression take on the Curivari …
A few weeks ago I was contacted by a fellow named Richard McArthur who is in the process of bringing a line of popular Panamanian cigars to the United States. The cigars are called “Regusto”, which according to the company’s new (and yet incomplete) website translates to “to taste again or repeatedly”. Intrigued at the prospect of a new cigar from Panama, I told him I’d be happy to give them a shot. (I found out later that though they …
