SR 12 Days of Christmas – Day 2 Winner

Oliva Serie V Liga Especial and Cain F

With Day 1 of the Second Annual Stogie Review 12 Days of Christmas under our belts, its time to roll out the prize for Day 2. For this prize, we asked that you show us your creative spark and answer a question for us. We wanted to know “If old Saint Nick was a cigar smoker, what cigar would he smoke on his sleigh ride around the world?”. Simply answering the question wouldn’t have been any fun, so we asked that you also explain your answer.

This was one of the contests that I was most excited about. I had a feeling that we were going to get some wild entries and the readers did not disappoint. Jerry, Brian, and I had a difficult time selecting a winner due to all of the fantastic entries. Some were down right funny while others got technical as to why a certain cigar was the one for Old Saint Nick.

For their creativity, the winner of this contest would earn themselves a Box of 5 Cain F Cigars as well as a signed Oliva Serie V Liga Especial Sampler. These cigars were generously provided by The Oliva Family of Cigars and Cain Cigars.

The Winner of the Second Annual Stogie Review 12 Days of Christmas,
Day 2 Contest is

Dave From Philly

“If old Saint Nick was a cigar smoker, what cigar would he smoke on his sleigh ride around the world?”

The answer is simple my friends…

Ok, The man has to go out very late in all hours of the night. So he’s gonna be drinking alot of coffee before hand to help keep him up. So he’s going to need something that will go well with it. But he can’t have a mild-medium bodied morning cigar either, because he’s been up all day, has eaten plenty of food, and u know the dude’s blood sugar is high cuz he’s a fat man that loves candy. So he needs something nice and full.

As previously stated, the guy’s got a sweet tooth. So he’s going to need something with a good sweet note, but it also has to have a nice spice to it because he’s got to stay warm (its f*ckin freezing at that altitude in spring for christ sake, imagine how he feels in the middle of winter!).

Now he’s going to be up there for a couple hours too, so the man needs a nice big cigar, thats going to burn slow. It also has to be extremely well constructed because he’s going to be flying around in the sky at a million miles an hour… I’ve had burn issues smoking on the beach, imagine the wind factor HE’S dealing with.

Santa’s also a classy man. So now we need something that looks pretty, and isn’t cheap. Nice band, no seams, no viens, and nice oily and shiny, to match the high gloss paint job the Mrs. just got on the sleigh for his birthday.

So we need the following qualifications for Santas Stogie:
Sweet, Buttery, (satisfies sweet tooth) Creamy, with notes of Coffee and Chocolate (goes with his coffee), Spicy (keeps him warm), looks pretty, well constructed, full bodied, and big.

And finally, Santa’s a man of the world. He’s very well rounded and well versed in all languages, so why not give him something that has English, and French in the title, and made by a Cuban that works out of Nicaragua and Miami? Thats alot of countries…seams pretty worldly to me.

Our end result is (drumroll)

My Father Le Bijou 1922 Churchill

Thanks,
