Don’t Cut Your Cigar, Spike It!

Don’t Cut Your Cigar, Spike It!

About a week ago a press release came across my inbox that caught my eye. I thought that it promoted a rather strange item and I debated posting the information on the site. After seeing some discussion on Twitter about the Cigar Spike and how interested some people were, I thought I would pass the information along.

Now, I have heard of people using similar items to open their cigars, most Golf Tees, but for some reason this product struck …

CAO La Traviata (First Impressions)

There I was, visiting W.Curtis Drapers for a lunch time smoke and I run into Frank Kapp, National Sales Manager for CAO Cigars. Frank was bringing the Draper Boys a pair of samples of CAO’s new cigar, La Traviata. The Draper Boys and Frank were nice enough to share with me one of the La Traviata. My first impressions can be found at the end of this post but equipped with only my iPhone here is a quick video …

CAO Gold Maduro

T-minus one day until IPCPR 2009. With that I decided to kill two birds with one stone. Its actually hard to believe that out of the 652 (I guess this is 653) cigar reviews published here on Stogie Review that we haven’t reviewed the CAO Gold or the CAO Gold Maduro. This will solve the CAO Gold Maduro and give me an easy way to transition into talking about CAO Cigars at IPCPR.

Video runs 12 minutes and do …

Graycliff Original Pirate (Red Label)

Graycliff Original Pirate (Red Label)

If you’ve been frequenting the Stogie Review for a while, you probably remember My Graycliff Tobacco Beetle Adventure. If you haven’t read it yet, suffice it to say, it was sad tale of loss and questionable customer service. What I didn’t know then, was that writing up the experience was not the final chapter in the story.

A few months ago, a Graycliff representative contacted me. He had read about my misadventure, and wanted to replace those beetle-chewed sticks. …

A RENAISSANCE FOR MIAMI CIGAR’S 1989

With the annual IPCPR trade show starting at the end of the week, we expect to see some last minute press releases rolling out before the show kicks off. The latest release comes from the folks at Miami Cigar Company. It seems that the Don Lino 1989 will be reblended and repackaged in the near future to become part of the Nestor Miranda Collection.

La Flor Dominicana Limitado IV

I’m not sure what my deal is? I normally refer to myself as a mild-medium bodied purveyor of cigars. Lately though, I’ve been on a full-extra full bodied kick. Maybe its stress at work? Anxiety as we wait for my petite corona to arrive? Excitement for IPCPR? All the above? Who knows really? I’ll just sit back and enjoy the ride.

The ride continues with the 2009 release of the La Flor Dominicana Limitado IV by Litto Gomez. Recently I …
