Back in June I got an email from Grant over at Factual. In the email Grant introduced himself and described Factual as the “Wikipedia of Data“. He told me that he stumbled onto Stogie Review and liked what he saw. As a result, he invited me to have a look at the beta site.
What I found when I received my invite from Grant was a cigar database in the works. It listed any brand that data could …
While logged into Facebook just the other day, I saw Jeff Borysiewicz of Corona Cigar Company make mention of a CNN Video involving a cigar company. Being at work when I saw the mention, I made a note for myself to watch it when I got back home for the day.
The two minute video spot informs us of the closure of the Hav-A-Tampa cigar factory down in Tampa Florida. One former employee, Ron Russel, took it upon himself to …

While Jerry and I were doing our thing at IPCPR (read: wandering around the convention center floor), we bumped into Colin Ganley of the European Cigar Cult Journal. We talked for a bit and he was kind enough to extend us an invitation to the ECCJ Awards.
The awards were being held in the Hilton Hotel, which is in the building next to the Convention Center. With the event so close, we planned on putting a full day …
Jerry and Brian get together for another episode of Herf’n Heads. In this episode we review the new CAO La Traviata (dare we say Cigar of The Year), cigar smoking etiquette, IPCPR, CRA and other random cigar shit.
Video lasts over an hour so I use the Viddler player so you can fast forward/seek to pick up where you left off in case you can’t watch in one sitting.…
There’s a chance you haven’t heard. Mexican San Andreas wrappers seem to be the new hot trend in the cigar world. As I was preparing for this review, I was able to count off, by memory, four cigars introduced at this year’s IPCPR trade show that are sporting this fashionable leaf. And yes, the cigar I’m reviewing today happens to be one of them.
I asked Willy Herrera of El Titan de Bronze about this trend when we were talking …

Doing anything with one hand sucks…even recording a video. While I’m not in condition to do a full cigar review I thought I’d share a few cigars that caught my attention at IPCPR. Enjoy…

While Jerry, Brian, and I were attending the 2009 IPCPR Convention in New Orleans, we set ourselves up with a few loose roles. Jerry manned the video camera, while Brian and I manned our cameras. Brian was focusing on taking photos while Jerry and I both had equipment for both still and video, which we planned to swap back and forth with.
Along the way I picked up video duty and never pulled my camera back out of my backpack. …
A little ways back I was on the Cigar Outcast forum poking around like I normally do a few times per week and I came across mention of a new cigar site. What set this site apart was that it wasn’t like many of the other cigar sites out there, this one was geared towards the cigar collectors out there.
Before I tell you what it is, first follow me along this path so that you may see the usefulness …
