Of my thousands of cigars I presently have in my collection, Rocky is still at the top. Iv'e acquired the 1961 some time ago and I smoke one on a special occassion. The New version should be as good or better than the first batch. The man has got his shi? together when it comes to producing some really fine cigars. If anyone gets the chance to acquire the new release, go for it.

This is a great full body cigar. Probably the most powerful non-seasonal cigar from Rocky Patel. Here is a youtube video of Rocky talking about the new 1961 cigar:

I've been a fan of RP cigars for quite a while. I first got started on the Vintage 1990's. They have been my favorite for a while - I liked them even more than the Decade. By chance I just picked up a box of the 1961's and the Summer Collection. I thought the Summer Collection was pretty good... but the 1961 was amazing. I think this is now my favorite RP cigar. To make sure my first one wasn't a fluke, I've smoked a few now... still have the same opinion.

I finished this smoke after about a full 60 minutes and I enjoyed it down to the end. It finished full with a nice bouquet of smoke with every puff. I don't know about coffee or caramel or any of that, only that I know what I like and I'll be sure to buy this smoke again!
