NUB Coverage

Concluding our coverage of Cigar Fest 2009, here is some footage from the NUB booth. You can see Sam Leccia rolling a NUB Maduro including patching a wrapper, some fans presenting Sam with a wood carving and Sam rewarding them with a few NUB cigars that you can’t buy and carry his own personal label.

Cigarfest 2009 Rambling

A few days ago I shared a video with you where I rambled on about the Friday festivities of Cigarfest 2009. I mentioned that a second video was on its way to talk about the actual event, well here it is. This video runs about 17 minutes and covers the happenings of the actual event.

Pete Johnson to box with Tim Carr

Not too long ago I started hearing rumors that Pete Johnson was to attend the Famous Smoke Shop Cigar Expo but was being pressured by another retailer to not attend. As the rumor circulated, the final word was that Pete had made the decision to pass on the event. After that things went quiet until this morning.

While looking through my tweets, I saw a message from Hayward that there was some sort of verbal dispute between Famous Smoke Shop …

Fridays Pre-Cigarfest 2009 Rambling

After Cigarfest 2009 was finished and I got a good nights sleep in my own bed, I thought I would recap the event by putting together a video of me rambling about a little behind the scenes stuff. Some of the discussion was already covered in the Pre Cigarfest video that @dcamacho, @tight_ash, @mountchuck, @jcruz, and I did, but I just felt like talking to the camera and this is what came of it.

Oliveros Eight Zero Toro Gordo

I was a little disappointed as I sat down to write up this review. I was certain that I’d be the first one to review a stick by Oliveros, but darn it if Walt didn’t review the Oliveros XL For Men several years ago. Even with that previous write up, Oliveros cigars are still mostly uncharted territory here on the Stogie Review.

I kinda makes sense that there we’ve done so few Oliveros reviews. There just hasn’t been all that …

Women of Cigarfest 2009

During Cigarfest 2009, Jerry and I made a point to focus on a couple of things. One of which was to speak to a number of manufacturers about new products as well as currently available cigars. Some of the other things we wanted to do was get some video of the event as well as pictures. While Jerry manned the video camera, I handled the camera for pictures.

Taking photos in the cloud of smoke was a bit tough, but …
