Inspired by my Blind tasting Videos, Rich Meade decieded that he wanted to do a blind tasting within the ranks of our Fan Forum. He went to his local shop, purchased cigars and shipped them out to a few of the guys. They all reviewed their cigars and below is the result.
I want to thank Rich for taking the initiative to get this going. I can;t thank you enough for the work that you, and the rest of …
This cigar up for review this week is one I’ve been looking forward to trying for well over a year. Ever since the Houston RTDA in 2007, where I literally bumped into the cigar. I was walking along the skybridge to the convention center from the hotel across the street the first full day of the show when my foot sent something across the floor. I looked down, and there a few feet in front of me was this giant …
So you have a special day coming up, for this particular day there isn’t a doubt in your mind that a gift is in order. You’ve always wanted to get the gift of cigars from your significant other / kids / parents / fiends, but you knew that day was probably not coming anytime soon. It isn’t because you don’t deserve the gift, the problem is the gift giver isn’t a cigar fanatic such as yourself and they don’t know …
I think this is our first Cuban cigar here at The Stogie Review and our first review at a National Monument. Maybe I should travel all around DC and record a review at every historical monument so you get a cigar review and a tour of the Nation’s Capital.
Anyway, this week I’m reviewing the Ramon Allones Specially Selected. Most of you have heard me mention this cigar a few times in my reviews and in YQMA as being one …
Last week I packed up my gear and headed across town to Kensington Tobacconist for yet another blind cigar tasting. Just like during the Jameson Black Label and Red Label tasting, the guys loosened up and had a good time. After about an hour of smoking, all cigars were extinguished and I was left with the following results.

If you have been checking out the site regularly today (10/24/08), you may have noticed some downtime throughout the day. We have contacted our host and they have determined that we need to be migrated to a new machine. As a result, we will be down for 1-2 hours starting at Midnight EST.
Once the migration takes place, we will be back to our normal routine. We have been assured that this will speed up the site and reduce the …
Due to my feeling a little under the weather, I don’t have a video cigar review for you this week. What I do have is a video and a question that I think could potentially stir up a lot of conversation among the community.
Last week Marcian posed a question on the Stogie Review Fan Forums asking “How much is too much?”. The question revolved around the current pricing of the Oliva Serie V Maduro Especial.…
This weeks guest review comes courtesy of our friend Rich Meade

G.A.R. by George A. Rico
This cigar is a new release from George Rico, the man behind Habano Cigars and the highly rated 3 Siglos. G.A.R is the first in Rico’s personal line of cigars. Not much information is available online about this stick, mostly wordy hype. The cigar is marketed as full bodied, and is reportedly Rico’s first box pressed stick.…
It’s not everyday you get to smoke a cigar that’s nearly as old as you are. (OK, so I’m not quite that young, but hey, it’s not that far off!) So when we were offered the chance to review a cigar that was born in 1982, I jumped at the offer. The catch was that these cigars were ones I’d never heard of before.
The story behind these cigars is pretty interesting. They were created in 1982 by Caribbean Tobacco …
