Stogie Review Intermediate Smoker Sampler

Not terribly long ago we received a voicemail entry from Dave Hanifan in regards to coming up with a Stogie Review sampler for a new cigar smoker as well as an intermediate smoker. During the recording of Episode 25 we didn’t do such a great job of answering the question as it was asked, and we rambled off several cigars that a new and intermediate smoker might enjoy.

The purpose of this article is to answer Dave’s question the way it was asked, and to possibly come up with a small list of cigars that a smoker with a few months under their belt might enjoy. The idea was to come up with a quality list of cigars that could be picked up a local cigar shop and purchased at their leisure. The Sampler is made up of 2 of each cigar listed for a total of 12 cigars.

Cigar: Perdomo Habano Corojo
Body: Medium to Full
Approximate Price: $5.00

Easy to distinguish rich Corojo flavor.
The blend of flavors make for a very interesting smoke that doesn’t overwhelm.
Seem to be easily attainable, at least here in PA

Cigar: Camacho Corojo
Body: Full
Approximate Price: $5.00

Easy cigar to track down locally.
Delivers a full bodied smoke that doesn’t overwhelm.
Delivers rich and enjoyable flavors.

Cigar: Hoyo De Monterrey 1066 Dark Knight
Body: Medium
Approximate Price: $3.00

Rich Maduro flavor that does not overwhelm.
Very easy to find both locally and online.
Smokes great with a cup of black coffee

Cigar: Perdomo Reserve Cameroon
Body: Medium to Full
Approximate Price: $6.50

Locally these are going to be at the top of the price scale for someone just getting into the hobby but they are well worth it after having smoked for a few months.
Excellent flavor profile
Smokes very well with a slow and even burn.

Cigar: Arganese Maduro Chairman
Body: Medium
Approximate Price: 6.00

One of Brian’s new everyday cigars.
Good flavor that is easy to follow and enjoy.
Will be a little tough to find

Cigar: La Flor Dominicana Cameroon Cabinet
Body: Medium
Approximate Price: $7.80

Another of Brian’s staple cigars
Delivers a sweet/sour tart flavor.
