La Aurora 1495 Robusto

Today I smoked the La Aurora 1495 Robusto. This cigar has a Ecuadoran Sumatra Sun Grown wrapper, a Dominican Corojo Binder and a mix of Dominican piloto cubano, Nicaraguan, Peruvian and Dominican Ligero filler. This cigar was developed by Jose Blanco, La Aurora’s Sales Director and master blender. This cigar was the first one from them to use 4 different tobaccos, it was also the first hit from the start for them.…

Troya X-TRA No 54

Filling in for Walt while he waits for his new video card.
Today I smoked the Troya X-TRA No. 54. This cigar measured 48 X 5.75. The wrapper was a 1999 Corojo , the binder and filler were both Nicaraguan. The cigar is rated as a medium. I decided to use my punch cutter on this cigar instead of my normal guillotine cut. I did not pick up any initial flavors from the wrapper or foot of the cigar before …

Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend

Jerry was busy taking care of some family stuff this week and was unable to get a review done in time for today, so I decided I would help him out and get a review up for you fine folks.

Todays cigar is the Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend. This just happens to be the cigar I decided to pass on for Mondays Review. This time, time was on my side and I had just about enough daylight to get me …

Henry Clay

Today I reviewed a Henry Clay. This cigar comes to us from Altadis. I have smoked many Henry Clays and have always enjoyed them. This particular cigar is a Grandes size, which is a 50 X 6. The wrapper and binder are Nicaraguan and the filler is a mix of Nicaraguan, Honduran and Peru.…

Your Questions, My Answers Episode 12

Sorry for the delay on Episode 12. I am currently editing all three videos together. I am trying something new with the editing. I think everyone will like it. I expect to have the editing finished this evening and it should be avaiable late Monday or early Tuesday.

UPDATE: I finished the editing and started the render process and headed off to bed. When I got this morning, I had an error that I ran out of hard drive space. …

Joyo de Nicargua Antono 1970

Well, here we are for another Monday Review and as promised, I have a write-up for you this week.

I was a little torn as to which cigar I was going to smoke, due to time I opted to go with the Joyo de Nicaragua Antono 1970 in a Corona size. After a quick looking over of the cigar I fond it to be a little rough. It had what I refer to as a “coarse wrap” meaning that the …

Missed Review

Well guys, I missed my Friday review. I thought my wife was going into early labor (6 weeks to go) but it turned out to be a case of Braxton Hicks. Still went to the hospital and still had to play the waiting game just to be told to go home.

My apologies for missing the review but all you fathers (and I’m sure we have some mothers, maybe?), can understand.

Look forward to Episode 12 of Your Questions, …

La Flor Dominicana Factory Press

My second review

La Flor Dominicana Factory Press

Today I enjoyed a La Flor Dominicana Factory Press. This limited edition cigar, of only 400 boxes of 120 cigars each, were ever produced has a suggested retail price of $12.00 a stick.. The cigar has a square or boxed press look to it. After the initial lighting, the cigar started off quite mild and have a fairly uneven burn.…

Bolivar (Dominican)

My apologies once again folks, I wasn’t able write a review this week. Next week though, I promise to have something more than a quick little blurb.

The review this week is the Bolivar, made in the Dominican Republic.…
