Site Construction

UPDATE: Well I was able to work some magic and change some code in the old theme and brought it back to life. Thanks for everyone’s comments and their e-mails.

Well…as you guys can see we have a new layout and theme for the site. For whatever reason when I woke up and checked the site this morning, our old theme stopped working.

Anyway, bear with us as we get this re-organized. Also, weigh in on what you think of …

Arturo Fuente Hemingway Classic Maduro

Switching it up a bit this week, I’m filling in the Friday review spot and bringing you my review of the Arturo Fuente Hemingway Classic maduro (7×48). This is Fuente’s Hemingway blend with a Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. Similar to the Anejo, the Hemingway with a maduro wrapper is released around Christmas time and occasionally again near Father’s Day.…

A few weeks ago after Jerry and I joined Cigar Live, Daniel (the forum owner), decided to hold a group tasting panel and include us. The cigar for the panel was the CAO Vision. For our second attempt at a joint review we decided to fire up the Vision and see what it provided.…

General News

Unfortunately, we don’t have a review for you today. Rather than let the site sit unposted on until , I decided to just post some useful information for anyone that is interested.

Interesting Reading:
If you haven’t read it already, take a look at The Burning Question (There are 3 parts total). It is an article I was pleased to write as a contribution to the Doc’s Stogiefresh Journal . It covers burn problems and how to avoid/correct them

Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro

The Wednesday review for this week brings us back to a cigar we first reviewed back in October with the Dale and Bob (or is it Bob and Dale?) from Dogwatch Social Club. Back in October, the Lot 23 had only been out a short time and was only available with an Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut shade wrapper. The maduro-wrapped version was recently released and I managed to acquire a few of the belicosos (5.75×54) and couldn’t wait any longer to …

  • I'm convinced at this point, the 1878 line from @pdrcigars is the 'Best Bang for your Buck' in the PDR portfolio. Some of his more expensive cigars just arent as good as this budget stick.
  • Smoking my first Flores y Rodriguez. The Flores, Id imagine, refers to Abe Flores of Pinar Del Rio.
  • IMO Enclosed Foot = "Sorry Sir, I couldn't be bothered to trip up that tobacco so I just wadded it up for you."
  • Box looks great, although it could have used more dry-time. Has a mild stain smell about it.
  • Got a @StudioTobac Sampler in the mail. Looks good, eager to smoke through them.
  • @LaAuroraCigars 107 Corona and @CAOCigars OSA cutter, together in harmony.
  • Have a bunch of things to wrap. Having a cigar to keep me company.
  • Nomad Cigars and Yuengling - 1
  • Have a busy morning ahead of me. It is such tough work but someone has to do it.
  • It is a little "Partagas Serie D No. 4" looking but I like the idea if small batch cigars from @pdrcigars
  • Nothing says Good Mornin' like an @EPCarrillo Elencos
  • Figures, 9 out of 10 were awesome and my last one has a lousy burn and produces virtually no smoke on the draw.
  • @jcruz @jonathandrew1 Same here and I guess you could call this Stogie Review Studios (North)
