CI Legends (Green Label)

Hopefully no one is suffering from “Jerry overload”. Walt is busy becoming a home owner this week (welcome to the mortgage club) and Brian is working his butt off to get a promotion at work so that leaves me all by myself. Don’t worry though, for all you Walt & Brian fans, they will be back next week.

You know, Kermit the Frog always says “its not easy being green” and thats what I took away from the Green Label …

Don Pepin Garcia Series JJ

On the recommendation of my Stogie Review cohort Brian, I decided to try the Series JJ from Don Pepin Garcia and since Walt did a geat job reviewing the Blue & Black labels that I thought it was time for us to review the White label. Walt can’t have all the fun.

Video runs about 13 minutes and I take a moment to answer a viewer question on whether I think Cuban cigars are worth the price.

When you’re done, …

Padilla Limitado 2006

A few notes before you watch the video. When I was recording the video I was at a loss. I didn’t know anything about the cigar because when I was searching for information I was searching for “Padilla Limitado” when I should’ve been looking for “Padilla Obsidian”. Since then I have discovered that it has a Honduran-grown Corojo and black Nicaraguan-grown fillers and a Nicaraguan ligero wrapper. These are a yearly release by Padilla. The 2007 release is called the …

El Rey Del Mundo – Robusto Larga

A couple of weeks ago I received an email requesting a review of a cigar I hadn’t smoked in quite some time. The cigar requested was the El Rey Del Mundo and I just happened to have a few left over from a purchase I made about six to eight months ago.

The size I had to smoke was the Robusto Larga, this cigar comes in at 6.00 inches long with a 54 ring gauge and is wrapped in tissue …

Sol Cubano Sumatra

Wednesday review for this week, Sol Cubano Sumatra robusto (5×50). No flaws in the wrapper, no visible veins on the surface though you can see one underneath. The wrapper has a slightly rough feel, like a fine grit sandpaper. no hard or soft spots and has a nicely done double cap. Pre-light draw is just right and the wrapper leaves a light, fruity sweetness on the lips.…

Oliva Serie V Ligero Especial

The review for this week’s cigar is something very special for Stogie Review. Today we have a review of the Pre Release Oliva Serie V Ligero Especial. This cigar is due to hit the streets shortly after the RTDA (Retail Tobacco Dealers Association) Trade Show in Houston.…

Episode 10 – Your Questions, My Answers

Okay so this is a long episode of Your Questions, My Answers. Entire episode runs almost 90 minutes and neither YouTube or blip.tv would host a full version. I broke down the episode into 30 minutes parts.

In this episode Walt and I discuss:

* Video Reviews that stand out
* Reviewing mild cigars in the evening
* Plans for RTDA
* What makes Spanish cedar so special
* Starting your own Cigar Blog
* More Retail shop advice
* …

Coronado by La Flor Dominicana

I wanted to take a picture of the Coronado but after I smoked this guy, I needed to lay down. I read the review over at Keepers of the Flame and the review by The Stogie Guys and I knew I should’ve heeded their warnings about this being a very strong cigar. After smoking the Coronado by La Flor Dominicana I barely had enough wits about me to edit the video. I’m just happy I finished the Coronado and didn’t …

Davidoff Millennium Blend

The Wednesday night review for this week is for the Davidoff Millennium Blend Petit Corona (4.5×41). I was gifted a five-pack of these a month ago and have been eyeballing one of them every time I opened the humidor since then. I’ve had a couple of the milder Davidoffs but had been looking forward to trying what is billed as a more full-bodied blend from them.…
